Default CFD package for gas-liquid flows

I am looking for a CFD package to simulate various types of airlift reactors used in the water treatment industry. We are looking at water, but also sewage treatment if possible.

What is the best package available to evaluate the turbulence intensity, gas hold-up, slip velocity, interfacial area? Is it possible to simulate something if we are not in the homogeneous bubble regime?

Thanks in advance.

CFX can handle multphase problems. I am sure you can evaluate the properties mentioned. However, I strongly recommend experimental validation.

CFX can also perform simulations in which bubble size distributions are included (MUSIG-model). Again: validation!!

Succes, Astrid
