Grid generation timings

Hello, Would you be so kind to answer the question about the time it takes you to generate an unstructured grid. Please, type the type of a computer you use. I'm especially interasted about PC efficiency. Best wishes, Nikita.

Hi,

Not any easy question to answer. It can been 2-3 minutes for a simple model and upto weeks for a very complex model. The only real answer is faster than a structured mesh!

David

Thanks, David, but what could you say about speed of grid generation?

Hi,

Its very hard to say. If you just look at pure computing power ICEM CFD TETRA meshes about 4000-5000 cells a second on a 1GHZ PC. But prior to that there is some time spent by the user which will depend on their skill and CAD data.

Cheers

David
