Any suggestion how to provide for a visual color effect (yellow ideally) of an aerosol with 0.5 micron size water or white mineral oil droplet particles?

the real thing: change the color of the aerosol - generated by a heat-exchanger type fogging machine using water or oil based fluid - from white to yellow Ewout |

Sorry, I know almost nothing about fogging machines. Have you tried posting to sci.mech.fluids? I suspect you will find a lot more experimentalists there.
