Default Help on Abett's method

1)can i use the form of Abett's method we use for boundary correction in the 2D case for correcting boundary condition in the 3d case as well (ie for an axisymmetric case where flow is over a two stepped cone at zero angle of attack or yaw..ie it is basically a 2d axisymmetric case)

(1). What is Abett's method? I have never heard of it. (2). Why not just try it out and see how it works.
