Standing Cylinder

Greetings: Does anyone know of best practices for gridding a standing cylinder to resilve the boundary layer and picking up surface vortex shedding. I need spacing etc ..

Thanks.

How about o-grids? Icem can do that, very good b-l's also. If the cylinder is ending in free fluid, you need o=grids on the end surfaces as well. Icem can do that too. If you don't have Icem, most commercial meshers can do this. and you can even do it with matlab if you are a bit clever. A mesh is just a bunch of coordinates, remember.
