particle tracking

Hi, all

I need to track small (not brownian) inert particles (8 micras) interacting with a slow moving dense fluid.

What is needed is to know when the particles impact a surface.

I would like to know about the algorithms used for the tracking.

Can anybody give me some references and/or software?

Best regards Newbie.

Re: particle tracking

forgot to say that the concentration of the particles is less than 10%, so there are not particle-particle interactions.

thnx

hi newbie,

you can use an eulerian / lagrangien approach. This model is called Particle Source In Cell (PSICell).

I suggest you to look at the book of CROWE. I can't remember the exact title, but i think that you can find it in the book section of cfd online.

Best regards

Alain
