Default Interaction between keel and hull

Posts: n/a
I am studying for a Degree in Naval Architecture and currently I am working on my final dissertation: a 60 footer sailing yacht. My design will have a lifting keel, and because of this I'd like to study the behavior of the flow around it. Specially because the keel will be used in different positions: up, down, heeling.... Does anyone know what type of CFD I could use where I could import my own model/profile? And what type of file you'd suggest me to use for import/export: dxf, IGES...? Thanks a lot for your help. Fernadno

Dear friends:
you want to know the lift of the yatch. I think it is not a difficult problem. I strongly suggest you to write your own code to investigate it.
About commeical software, Fluent can do this job. Since Fluent has been wildly used in the sports area to improve the perfromance of many equipments. including yatch.
