conversion between CFD codes

Hi Everybody,

I would like to know if it is possible to convert Fluent case and data files directly to StarCD or CFX (and vice versa), including all boundary conditions and solver settings. Does anyone have experience with this?

I know that it is possible to convert the mesh through IGES/STEP tools and the solution through AVS/Fieldview formats. But this probably means that the grid-connectivity is lost, as well as the solver settings and boundary conditions.

Many thanks,

Roel Luppes

Re: conversion between CFD codes

You can convert the geometry and boundary locations to STAR with CGNS. There is not really a 1 to 1 correspondence of miscellaneous setup data (ie solver options, boundary properties, fluid properties...) so this data would have to be reentered.
