artificial viscosity in wakes
I am currently working on a CFD code which solve the 3D compressible Navier-Stokes equation. It is especially used for turbomachinery problem. The algorithm use a FVM method coupled with the 1-step Lax-Wendroff time integration. This central scheme needs a second and fourth order artificial viscosity. Near walls, these are reduced quickly to zero. Meanwhile, in the wake region I do not know what I have to do with the smoothing coefficient. Do they have to be reduced, or not ?
