Default IGES files from PRO E

I was wondering how to import IGES files from Pro Engineer/student ed. into Gambit as volumes rather than faces. I know PRO E prompts you on how you want to export the IGES file, for example, surface or solid and this was tried. The first time I imported as surface and Gambit created the geometry as faces. Next I tried to import the IGES file as a solid and Gambit made it with virtual faces! So if anyone knows some useful info on this, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
