numerical stability analysis
I'm sort of wondering why no much work done on numerical stability analysis for mult-dimentional and multi-equation systems.
All I can see is e.g in text books of Finite Difference Method, people say a lot on stability/ consistancy/convergence on one dimensional problems like 1D simple wave eqn, 1D Burgers equation, 1D KdV equation bla bla.
Actually, a 2-D/3-D scheme can be unstable simply because of lateral boundaries, cross-derivatives ...
Any one have a better clue on this? Or is there any thing new here?
