Dear Sir I am doing M.E. by research in NED University my research project is "revemping of Francis Turbine applying CFD".I am studing solution of different equations like laplacian equation,poission equation,but still i haven't got any book or research paper in which solution of Navier-Stoke equation and Euler equation is present.If you know any book or article which will be helpful for me please informe me. waiting for ur prompt reply MUKKARUM HUSSAIN RESEARCH ASSISTANT

You can see book "Numerical heat transfer and fluid flow' by T. Sunderajan and K. muralidhar Anderson book is also useful. In these book you can get SIMPLE and MAC algorithim to solve N-S eqn

For a complete review on how to solve the Euler and Navier Stokes equations, you should download my dissertation, which is available through my website,

Mukkarum,
When I created the PDF, I decided to encrypt it and disable the print option. I wanted to retain the copyright for printed copies, and the only way to enforce it was to disable the print option. I thought that some time later I may write my own book on CFD, and I would probably incorporate a significant part of my dissertation. If you need a printed copy, let me know. The current price is $90, which covers the cost of printing, binding (ring binding or glued soft cover), and shipping. This price may seem high to you, but color laser printing is not exactly inexpensive. My website is not currently set up for online purchasing of my dissertation. My dissertation (except for abstract) is not available through UMI. I would not allow some third party to make money off my intellectual property and then reimburse me with peanuts.
By the way, UMI prints in black & white only. Also, the print is reduced (less than 8.5 x 11 inches). A dissertation on CFD that is not printed in color is useless in my opinion. In comparison to the black & white pricing of UMI, my color copies are cheap - after all we are talking 169 pages of which more than 50% are in full color. Another thing: the PDF copies that UMI sells are not created from the source file (e.g. Word Document), but are created from scanned copies. The print quality is rather lousy in my opinion; sometimes pages are not even straight. Axel |

OK Sir I will firstly try to understand your dissertation by PC and if feel difficulty then purchase it. Sir i am working on research project "revemping of Francis Turbine applying CFD". I have got book "An introduction to computational fluid dynamics (finite volume) by malalasakra" it is very good book and i have understand SIMPLE, SIMPLER AND SIMPLEC method of solving Navier Stock equation but in this book just presentation that how Navier Stock equation can be solved but there is no solve example. Do you know any book or article in which this type of example is present. I mean that for any given problem(good if turbine rotor)firstly assume pressure field and then find velocity field then check pressure correction equation and repeat this procedure still convergence occure. waiting for your prompt reply thanks

Dear Mukkurum, If you are really looking for solved example then check these book. One book is by Anderson and another numerical heat and mass transfer my T. sundarrajan and K. Muralidhar. In both book u will get good idea about SIMPLE and MAC methods and also solved examples. In Anderson book SIMPLE algorithim is given in very efficient manner.try these book...all the best

Dear Mukkarum, I'm doing a same research (sort of) like you. Actually, I've to do some research and analysis in the movement of solid object in viscious and inviscious fluids. Can I get in touch with you so that we can discuss more on this things? It seems blurry to me. Any good articles/ books to refer to? Thanks.

There might be some software to break down the PDF print limitation. Called PASSWARE? I am not quite sure though. Also, I am not encouraging you to do so. If you do it, do it at your own responsibility and risk. Sorry, Axel, you may have to drop off the downloads now.

hi mukkarum, if u really want to download axels dissertation there are number of way to take it .
easiest one is open the pdf file and just adjust the dissertation contents as per your PC screen then just Print SCreen (Prt Sc) button on your keyboard and paste the bitmap file in a blank word document and then print the same. ofcourse you have to waste some time for this! |
