VOF code?

Hi y'all

I need to solve a problem involving two phase a free surface flow model that includes small particle tracking in the liquid phase.

So far I've used fluent but the results take too long and I have to change so often the solution parameters to obtain a decent convergence that ( I think) the results will be very difficult to be repeated by someone else.

I would like to know if there is another code comercial or not with better multiphase VOF-particle tracking solving features.

Thnx

Hi CFD newbie,

I've done some 2 phase surface flows using STAR-CD. (I have no experience with Fluent). I'm not sure if your particular problem will run faster, but you might want to look into it. (www.adapco-online.com)

Re: VOF code?

Please check FLOW-3D for simulation of free surface problems. FLOW-3D is provided by Flow Science inc. a company found by Dr. C.W. Hirt who proposed and developed VOF algorithm. Their Web page is www.flow3d.com

Good luck!
