I am looking for software capable of coupling two commercial codes (Fluent and Abaqus) for the fluid-structure interaction of a heart valve. I am already aware of MpccI, MDICE, CFD-DTF but I would like to know if there was other software available?

This is for general info.

FSI for a heart valve work has been done in CFX-5 (with ANSYS I think). It has been done from the mapping of "real" artery data (similar work for lungs, baldder as well) for mechanical valves, and I have seen a case for an external heart as well in the UK. You may have a look on their site for info for and quote in your own research.

Dr. Bathe's(of MIT and FEA textbook fame) software company,ADINA has the capability I believe and I think they have some relevant examples on their website.

You should try to have a look on FLUIDYN website (www.fluidyn.com). Fluidyn-FSI is a commercial code coupling finite volume and finite element methods inside the same solver. This allows for a strong and efficient coupling of the fluid and structure mechanics. Several examples and references are available on the website.

RADIOSS-CFD is a fully coupled fluid structure solver that has already been used for biomechanics simulations. You can check many examples on the web site www.mcube.fr under the applications section of M-Explicit.
