Implicit, fractional step method!!
Hi there,

I am seeking information concerning the implementation of an implicit time stepping procedure in conjunction with the fractional step approach. To be more precise, I want to keep everything explicit in the streamwise and spanwise directions for both the inviscid and viscous contributions, while for the wall-normal direction, I am trying to have a mixte approach explicit inviscid/implicit viscous terms.

So if you have papers, references or even source codes that discuss this type of implementation, please feel free to share you sources with me.

Thanks in advance,

Frederic Felten.

Perhaps Akselvoll & Moin, Journal of Fluid Mechanics, Vol. 315 is interesting for you.

The book "Fluid Flow Phenomena" by Paolo Oranldi might help. It also contains useful codes on DNS/LES.
