STAR-CD in automotive HVAC application

HI. I would like to hear from anyone using STAR-CD in automotive HVAC simulation at the design stage for the new car model. Especially how simulation results correlate to the test data obtained during the proto testing and is there any similarity in air distribution and linearity from full hot to full cold mode that CFD will perdict at the design stage that the test at the proto stage will verify. Thanks a lot for the time.

Have a look at

"Optimization of Automotive HVAC Components using Star-CD"

from Dr. Steffen Frik, Adam Opel AG, Ruesselsheim, Germany

presented at the 5th StarCD European Users Group Meeting 1996

How would I go about finding a copy of that?

Thanks, Jeff W

Ask the people from Computational Dynamics or Adapco to send you a copy.

As most of the HVAC stuff is done by automotive companies or Adapco they will not spread to much information :)
