Compact finite difference schemes

Hi there,

I would like to know if anyone has any information regarding pade schemes in the ocntext of compact finite difference schemes. I have Lele's 1992 paper "compact finite difference schemes with spectral-like resolution", but it does not explain where the main approximation (2.1 for those who have the paer) comes from. Does anyone have other references(books or papers) which may be of help? I have looked at soe of those referenced in Lele's paper, but to no avail.

If anyone has any information on how to implement these in a finite-volume LES context, it would be of help too.

Thanks.

Re: Compact finite difference schemes

There is a book Advanced Turbulnet Flow Computations. ISBN 3-221-83324-2 so on pages 11-24 there is something about it, also there are some references. It is not exactly the thing Lele is speaking about - he speaks about more general case, but at least something :) Mikhail

Thanks Mikhail,

I am afraid that book does not seem to exist! I treid searching the british library using the ISBN No. and the name of the book and various combinations of these as well as searching a list of ISBN numbers. No joy.

There was a typing error in word Turbulent:) This is the reference where you can see how it looks like: http://www.uni-protokolle.de/buecher/isbn/3211833242/

full information: Advanced turbulent flow computations / ed. by Roger Peyret and Egon Krause Wien : Springer, 2000 ISBN 3-211-83324-2

Sorry for mistakes - I was in a hurry:)

Probably I'll get some more references, since I have to write a DNS code.

Regards Mikhail

Some more references

You also can find something in Hircsh: C.Hirsch Numerical Computation of Internal and External Flows. Vol.1 ISBN 0-471-92385-0

pages 181-194 and also some references at the end of the chapter, but it is a litle bit out of date, since the book was published in 1991

Regards

Mikhail
