ACOUSTIC / WIND NOISE / AEROACOUSTIC
I am student. I have already made CFD simulation with RSM and k-epsilon model (2D and 3D). Please, has somebody already done an acoustic postprocessing with Fluent or Star to locate aeroacoustic sources ? Obviously, I can get directly the kinetic turbulent energy and so on. Or perhaps, I should use the LES model (but I think that the numerical scheme order is not enough big). So, what do you think about aeroacoustic / CFD ?

There are several types of acoustic sources and only the quadrupol-source is related to the turbulence.
If you are interested in monopol-sources you have to look for something like the gradient dm/dt ( m - mass flux).
Dipol sources should be proportional to fluctuating wall forces.
Some more ways to classify and describe these sources exists (vortex based, ...)
Now the big problem is the coupling to cfd. If you know what type of source is dominant in your case you can have a closer look at you cfd results.
As far as I know there exists no general solution of these problems and many work on this topic for several years.
