Default boundary layers and k-w model

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a compressible turbulent boundary layer profile to fit experimental data from a supersonic flat plate test case.

The reason I need an analytical profile is to act as an inlet to the computational domain, as the experimental data doesn't go into the viscous sublayer.

I am using the Wilcox k-w turbulence model so therefore require profiles not only for the velocity, temperature, density etc.. but also for the k (turbulent kinetic energy) and omega (specific dissipation rate) from the viscous sublayer through to the boundary layer edge.

The velocity, temperature and density profiles seem okay but I am having trouble finding references on how to specify the k and omega profiles for compressible flat plate cases.

I'd have thought that this is something turbulence modellers do on a regular basis so can any of you guys let me know of any good references that specify exactly how to create the k and omega throughout the whole boundary layer. (I have the Wilcox book)

or alternatively what you turbulence modellers usually use in a case like this.

Also, can anybody tell me what Wilcox uses to create the initial boundary layer profile in the EDDYBL code?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice

Paul

Hi paul

Do you have EDDYBL code? Can you send
it to me via e-mail?
Thank you in advance.
