What's Atwood number?
Hi, friends,
Please give me a definition, both physical and mathematical, of Atwood number, and recommand some references. I googled it but can not find useful things. Simple question? Thank you. |
Re: What's Atwood number?
Hey Paul,
dealing with mixtures of fluid one uses the Atwood number to characterize the density difference between two fluids. Assume that dens2 is the density of the heavier fluid. The definition is: At = (dens2 - dens1) / (dens2 + dens1). For big density differences At tends to 1. For small differences At tends to zero. Greetings, Marc |
