density consideration in two-phase simulation

I am using Volume-of-Fluid model to model the process of steam condensation. I found it is very difficult to converge. However, if I purposely increase the steam density, the program is easier to converge. Is there anyone who can give me some advice on this issue? Maybe I shall adjust my mesh. If so, how? Thank you for your advice.
