question about instability
hi,
can high CFL number (but still within stability limit) lead to an incorrect solution? thanks in advance, linhbao |
Re: question about instability
(1). It is easy to answer when you have the correct solution (theoretical solution). (2). In general, stability is not accuracy. A stable solution is not always an accurate solution. If a solution is not accurate, it is not the correct solution. (3). In most cases, we do not know whether a stable, converged solution is the correct solution or not.
