CFD validation
I'm concerned about how to validate your CFD simulation. Here are some ways I know:
1. Compare simulation results with experimental/analytical results if available. 2. If no experimental/analytical results to compare with, run simulations with different mesh, models using explicit/implicit method,....and the results shall stay unchanged. More suggestions?:) |
Another way is to use the method of manufactured solutions like those proposed by Roache, P.J. (2002).
Good luck... |
Thanks for the reply. Actually I find a 'Bible' of CFD validation in
http://www.grc.nasa.gov/WWW/wind/val.../tutorial.html. and wanna share it here. :D |
Derive the analytical solution for 3D Navier-Stokes equation and collect 1 Million $.

Actually, to win the prize, you "just" need to prove that strong solutions do not exists for any fixed time and Re number...which is more likely the case.
