post processing for KIVA

Hi all!

I am new in this forum and I have a question related with post processing. Hopefully I post it in the right place.

I have the result from my simulation using KIVA. I would like to do a post processing which allows me to create flow visualization (vector of the velocity). So how can I do that?

For the information, until now I am using General Mesh Viewer to do the post processing, however I still can not find the correct way in GMV to visualize the flow.

Thanks.

Hi dirga,

You should be able to click on the Vectors button near the bottom of the Nodes window and turn the vectors on and off. You may have to choose the "Build Vector" option to build the velocity vectors out of the u, v and w components.

Hope this helps.

Hi Senecal,

I have tried that one. But the result is not exactly what I want.
I have attached a picture from some journal to give an idea of the thing that I want to accomplish.

On the left hand side of the attached picture is the vector and on the right hand side is the streamline visualization.

Hi dirga,

GMV is a great tool, but sometimes I have trouble with getting vectors to look good. For everything else it is very fast and easy. Good luck!

Hi senecal,

By any chance, do you have k2fv.exe?
Or does anyone here has it?

Thanks!

Hi dirga,

I do not have that. Good luck.
