Hi all, I have the following rotating geometry with 18 holes on it's peripheri..To analyse it i have taken a sector covering only single hole (also tried with 3 holes) but i am unable to mesh due to it's complex nature..I am afraid if my approach is not correct, please help me in meshing !!

Thanks

Regards
eers

You might want to mess it part by part to obtain a multi-block mesh instead of a single-block mesh.

This can be easily meshed using an advanced meshing tool. I know ICEM CFD, which has the blocking option, perfect for this application.
Which meshing program do you have access to?

Alternative way is to slice the geometry into smaller hexahedral pieces so that every piece will be sweepable with hex elements.

Good luck.

Thanks canciger, but i have only access to Gambit..I 'll try by dividing in to different volumes the but i doubt weather it's possible to do at hole surfaces..

Hi,
I can try and do the mesh for this geometry.
Just send me the mesh details and geometry.

Cheers,
Sony
