Default hydrostatic balance

Hi,

I have the following problem:

On a 2D unstructured triangular mesh, I need to impose hydrostatic balance in the y-direction. The problem boils down to: given a field (density) specified at cell-centers, impose pressure at cell centers such that dp/dx = 0 and dp/dy = -rho*gravity at cell centers.

Any ideas/suggestions or pointer to relevant publications would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.
