courant number

Hi all,
I am running a pressure based steady state simulation in Fluent. I could not find a way to check the courant number. Is it not available with steady state calculations? looking for your expertise, please!!!
Thanks
Salman

Hi Salman,

You can display the Courant number in a field by going to display->sweep surface->properties of contours->contours of :select velocity->second pull-down menu: select cell courant numper (at the bottom)

Kind regards,
Wiebe Zoon

hi,
Thanks for the reply. I have checked the path you advised, but this is the "Cell Reynolds Number" at the bottom and not the cell courant number. I have no idea whether they are the same things or not?

Salman

Hi,

No, this is not the same. (With me, the Courant number is below the Reynolds number). Are you running a transient simulation or a steady state one? (The Courant number only has a meaning in a transient simulation.)

Regards,
Wiebe.

hi,
Thats what I have asked in the main topic. :))
Its a steady state simulation. So it means that courant number is not available for steady state!!!
Thank you very much.

Salman
