CFD Shear flows

I need guidance in details regarding condition for reattachment point in separated turbulent flows.

what sort of guidance?

Re: CFD Shear flows

As we know that the condition for point of separation is du/dy equals to zero. Will the same condition be valid for reattachment point? or it may also be dv/dx equals to zero?

Re: CFD Shear flows

I think it may depend on the conditions of reattachment

Have a look for work on closed separation bubbles. There is a lot of work out there

Re: CFD Shear flows

If the wall is flat then du/dy=0 on the wall at separation and reaattachment,

Tom.

Re: CFD Shear flows

Thanks to Mr.Pete and Mr. Tom, yes it will be at du/dy=0.
