LBM Vs navier stokes equations in turbulent fluid flow modeling.

I am working on a project with turbulent fluid flow study.
I am wondering to use Lattice Boltzmann Methods(LBM) for it.
But i am i doubt about it's precison over conventional navier stokes equations.
would be happy to recieve some useful feedbacks .

Thanks,
Sharad
