Thermo-acoustics

Somebody working in the field of thermo-acoustics? Pr

Re: Thermo-acoustics

we have worked on pulse tubes?

Re: Thermo-acoustics

Can you elaborate on that pulse tubes.? Pr

Re: Thermo-acoustics

Essentially it is a thermoacoustic engine that provides pulsating flow down a tube to provide cooling. Similar to a reverse stirling cycle without the moving parts

Re: Thermo-acoustics

Oscillating pressures inside a tube closed at one end will cause the gas to be heated at the closed end during compression and cooled at the other end during expansion. Basic refrigeration cycle

Re: Thermo-acoustics

Okay thanks. But I was referring to self excited oscillations produced from therm-acoutics coupling in gas turbine combustor. Which is a problem of concern nowadays in the disgn of Low Nox gas turbine combustor.

Does this mean that

Pr = Pratap ?

Yeah

Re: Thermo-acoustics

Clients of us have been working with RADIOSS-CFD to produce some thermal acoustic flow in a gaz turbine.

I can provide the published paper by e-mail if needed. 'Numerical Analysis of acoustic-flow interaction in a gas turbine combustion chamber' Dariusz Nowak ALSTOM
