Is there any method to analyse the errors cause by boundary conditions?

I know we can analyze the eigenvalues of a matrix to study whether the boundary conditions can give a stable algorithm.

But I hope to analyze the dispersion and dissipation errors caused by the discretisation of boundary conditions quantitatively. Is there any method?

Thanks in advance.

Hi... To analyze errors due to implementation of the code or to garantee the order of the error in the code, the best way I know is to use the method of the manufactured solutions like proposed by Roache in his article... Then with this method it is possible to quantitatively verify the influence of your Dirichlet or Neumann boundary condition...

Good luck...
