Which are the problems with modelling a supersonic flow with K-epsilon model? Can it give realistic results or completely wrong ones? Thanks.

I modeled underexpanded free jets with Rampant (now Fluent) some years ago with a lot shock cells and boundary layers and compared the veloctiy distribution with LDA measurements. Results have been okay with k-eps and RNG. Also Sarkars modification for compressible flows should be applied in turb. models. Ulli
