Can vorticity or pressure coefficient plots be used to explain the thrust and lift?
I have simulated moving airfoils and computed the thrust and lift.
How can I use the vorticity or pressure coefficient plots obtained to explain the reason for the high or low thrust and lift of the airfoil?
Is there any useful references?
From the pressure distribution, it is rather hard to determine how thrust is produced from an oscillating airfoil ( I assume oscillating since you mention thrust generation). I have used the vorticity moment equations to explain why thrust is generated from plunge/pitch etc. If you want, send me ur email, I can send you the paper..
