TVD RK and fractional step method
correct me if i am wrong..
i am trying to apply fractional step method with third order TVD RK..
so at start i am solving the convective part and then the diffusion part using fractional step method... in applying this will the time step size be half... tht is delta t/2 when solving the convective part and then delta t/2 when solving the diffusion...????
secondly after getting the intermediate velocity which is not satisfying continuty as perssure is not considered in the start... we wil be applying poisson equation to get pressure....
thirdly from that pressure we thn r able to find the final velocity which is satisfying the continuty..
second question is tht is the three steps for the time disscretization be applied when we r solving the convective and diffusion part??? in other words is the poisson equation will be solved only once i.e, after applying the three steps of RK??
if anybody can explain all this procedure better ill appreciate...
