Modelling A City

Hi,

Currently in University doing my 4th year project, where I'm modeling the air flow across a city.

Im using GAMBIT and Fluent 5 to model this situation, however when I mesh the large volume (surrounding area) I run out of memory.

I was wondering if it is possible to create a large volume without using a lot of memory

Any help in doing this would be much appreciated,

Thanks

David

Hi,
do you use the tools/sizing function for the surrounding areas?

greets, Fabian

Thanks for your help there, I hadnt used any size functions,

although to solve my problem I just increased the mesh size away from the points i was concerned in!

I was wondering if anyone could help me, ive got a rather large 3d mesh and im trying to find out information about a point in the middle of it, is it possible to create 2D slices of the 3D mesh so that I can see the velocity vectors in the areas concerned?

im a bit of newbie, learning as I go... sorry :(
