i'm looking for an independant post-processor. I mean a post-porcessor which can read in files from star-cd, CFX, Fluent...

Could you give any advices or names ?

I most most post-processor can realize what you what. I use TECPLOT and ENSIGHT. You just need to form data in a format that is compatible with the post-processors. For commercial CFD softwares, at least I know that Fluent can export to the format used in TECPLOT.

The results obtained using the mentionned soft could probably be output in "cgns" format, that then could be re-read.

CGNS aims to provide a "standard" output format for CFD, see web site http://www.cgns.org/ for more info. They also provide a list of software that can use the format.

Ensight is a very capable product and supports over eighty solvers including STAR-CD, CFX, Fluent, Kiva, CFD-ACE, Phoinex, Nastran,ANSYS, Abaqus, Dyna etc. ect. You can also import STL geometry.

Cam you tell us how to use OpenDX wih Star. I think that some scripts ... are required.

I've really no idea: the point is that OpenDX is free, whereas (as far as I can tell) all the other offerings in the replies are commercial. Obviously, commercial offerings will have custom-made interfaces for some codes and for the open source project like dx you may need to put some effort in (and contribute?).

Currently, I am not aware of a publicly available interface for STAR-CD but it's worth getting in touch with CD-adapco and the dx developer forum for help.
