Hi,

partial equilibrium has nothing to do with flows but with the chemical kinetics and its modelling. When you model chemical reactions, you can split the reaction scheme to fast and slow reaction parts. The reactions which are many times faster then the slow ones can be assumed to be in equilibrium, while the slow ones are still calculated including the kinetics (arrhenius equations). With this approach, you can simplify the computations a lot. I suggest you to have a look at sciencedirect.com and search for "partial equlibrium model". There are several approaches how to use this assumption in a model. Do not forget - it is only approximation which makes your calculations easier!

With the c++ code, you may start to have a look at http://fire8.vug.uni-duisburg.de/MOUSE/ .It is not a reacting flow code, but you can use it for it. Or you can have a look at www.nabla.co.uk/ . They have similar tool with a free license for universities.

good luck

Matej
