Using Natural gas in Kiva 4

Hello everyone,

Am trying to run a case with natural gas as the fuel in kiva 4.
When I specify species concentration in ylminitial, only the first concentration is read and second concentration is taken as diffusionl. Is it right to mention it that way?
Please advice.

Following is the corresponding section of my itape5:

nsp 18 7
nat. gas 0.85, 0.07, 0.04, 0.025, 0.005, 0.005, 0.005 0.00001
o2 mw2 32.000 htf2 0.0
n2 mw3 28.016 htf3 0.0
co2 mw4 44.011 htf4 -93.965

h mw6 1.008 htf6 51.631
h2 mw7 2.016 htf7 0.0
o mw8 16.000 htf8 58.989
n mw9 14.008 htf9 112.520
oh mw10 17.008 htf10 9.289
co mw11 28.011 htf11 -27.200
no mw12 30.008 htf12 21.456

Thanks.

Hi there,

I reckon the problem you got is due to you don't need to specify the mass fraction of the natural gas in your itape5.

You only need to specify the name, and the both parameters: ylminitial and diffusionl in that line, whereas the mass fraction of the natural gas must be defined somewhere else.
If i'm not mistaken it is accounted for in sub. fuel.f in the line (48):

fuel.f(48): data fracng / 0.85d0 , 0.07d0 , 0.04d0 , 0.025d0 , 0.005d0 ,

Hope it helps

Daniel
