why u decided to work on CFD? Who told you to do so? Why can't he guide you? What is your background to start working in CFD? Where you work?

Re: newcomer in need of advice

A good book to read that helped me a lot at the begining, even though 'told' me to start working in CFD, is "An introduction to computational fluid dynamics: the finite volume method" by Versteeg and Malalasekera. "Computational Methods for fluid dynamics" by Ferziger and Peric is also very good.

You might want to purchase the "best practice guidelines on Quality and trust in industrial CFD" by the European Research Community on Flow, Turbulence and Combustion (ERCOFTAC). This will really help when you go to conduct a CFD simulation.

Hope this helps,

Mark

Hello,

I agree with Mark and can add two other good books:

"Numerical Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow" by Suhas V. Patankar

and

"Computational Techniques for Fluid Dynamics" by C.A.J. Fletcher

Regards

Mikael
