Tube bundle simulation using porous media

Hi everybody,

I am simulating a flow through tube bundle (inside heat exchanger) and I want to simulate the bundle using porous media (or equivalent source terms) Now from some coorelations (grimsons charts) I have got the pressure drop - velocity relation for my case. Now the problem is how to define the source term so as to take care of bundle as resistance.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Regards, Jitendra

This dependes on the program you are using, generally you will find an answer to your question in the "porous media" section of the manual.

Jitendra,

I have sent you by e-mail an extract of a report on this issue (including a model for convective heat transfer from the array as well).

I hope it is useful, Rami
