Approximate Numerical modelling of Jet Flow
I'm working on a final year Masters project looking at the flow of air through identical apertures (creating multiple jets) and then passing over various objects.
I'm using ICEM/Fluent to model the system in progressively larger sections to try and work out optimum distances and shapes of various parts, but (being a physics student rather than an engineering one) I'd very much like to be able to get my teeth into the numbers behind the formation and (in particular) the dissipation of jets and methods to ensure the flow they dissipate into is as laminar as possible.
Do any of you have any links, references or advice as to modeling the distance for a jet flow to become laminar? I can give some more detail if anyone would find it useful.
