Default 2D simulations

Hi:

any body knows how to give non-slip boundaries for 2D simulation? I use vorticity-streamfunction method. I chose stream functions to be zero in the solid boundaries and estimate the vorticity there using stream function. But my method is highly unstable. I have to choose very very small time step for low Reynolds number flow?

Thanks,

-Jenn

hi Jenn, i have just started working on 2d fluent at the louisiana tech univ. so could tell me about meshing and saving it as .msh file.

i am trying to save a mesh as .msh form in GAMBIT, but it says mesh has higher order elements and so its not being saved as .msh file. so, could any one help me in this regard. or any links that discuss these kind of things.

i would appreciate it.

Thank you

Hi,Shankar,

I never use fluent. I wrote my 2D code by my own.

hi jenn,

i have taken a geometry of this size 30cm x 30cm. no.of grid point 31 x 31. delt(time step)=0.001. Re=50

boundary conditions are as follows:

1. u=v=0 on the walls. 2. si = somevalue(0.5 say) on the walls. 3. vorticity u have to find at the walls.

if u have any difficulties related to finding vorticity i will help u. hope this will help u.
