It really depends on 2 main factors: 1. your budget. and 2.your application area.

Dear sir first of all thank u for ure response, I must say that the budget must not really be expensive because we are a small company, for example something like fluent is really expensive. The application area is the calculation of external flow and not internal in the aeronautics area. I thank u bye advance for ure time and consideration. Sam

Try Contacting Nabla for FOAM. Their web-site address is www.nable.co.uk. They have a good solver, but no grid generator or post-processor.

But they do have utilities that allow them to import a mesh from several Grid Generators (like Gambit).

Also they do provide a free post processor (third party code), which comes included in the files you will be downloading.

Furthermore, if your geometry is not so complicated, (as it was my case), you will find writing FOAM geometry files easier then working with Gambit... Remember Fluent does not comes with grid gen too...

I am new to FOAM, but I have already run some LES cases, and I find it a very interesting, fast, powerful, and most of all flexible, allowing one to implement quickly modifications, which makes it, in my opinion, a must for academic or research applications.

Give it a try! Luiz
