quasi 1-d euler equations

Hi guys,

I am solving quasi 1-d euler equations. (cd nozzle) ... I have the stagnation pressure, density at inlet and back pressure at outlet... can anybody help on setting these as boundary conditions...

Thanks,
Naren.

J. D. Anderson - Introduction to CFD

You will find this problem presented in great detail. Hope this will help,

Hi Do,

Thanks for the reply. It helped a lot.

Hi,

Can anybody please help on setting up the boundary conditions for quasi 1-d euler (cd nozzle)? How to set Dirichlet boundary conditions at inlet and exit.??

Anderson only discusses on extrapolating the floating values at the boundary but not on setting the pressure and density at boundary.

Thanks,
Naren.

Set them in your initial condition and then never update them within the flow solver.

Hi All,

Thanks for your valuable comments. I am solving these equations on a curvilinear coordinates and facing some problems. I am seeing some wiggles where my grid spacing changes (delX1 to delX2). Also, these wiggles tend to damp as my solution reaches steady state.. Please post in your comments on this issue.

For low pressure ratio (p0/pe) it takes very long to get to steady state. Any ideas on bringing it to steady state faster...

Thanks and Regards,
Naren.:)
