New to CFD

Howdy,

I am a maths graduate and currently work in aerospace, mainly programming but also some FE. I need a new challenge and am looking at CFD. I have no experience with CFD at all.

Can anyone recommend the best route into CFD? I have just started reading "Computational Fluid Dynamics - The Basics with Applications" by Anderson, so given a few weeks I should have a grasp of the basics. I should also be able to get access, through work, to Fluent and/or StarCD at some point.

Am I better off reading, self-study etc. or would anyone recommend taking a course? Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers,

Andrew

I read Copmutational Fluid Dyamics by Fletcher but its a bit old now. CFD by Chung is good for advaced as well as beginners. You ca dowload tutorials for fluet from the web but you need to have the software to practice it.
