Most widely used method?

Which is the most widely used method in CFD (FDM, FVM, and FEM) and why? Also please give an example of the kind of problems each method is suited for.

Firstly - FDM is suited only for structured, orthogonal meshes. FEM is used in some areas with success, but general application is problematic due to problems in derivation of a weak formulation for all the fancy equations arising in CFD. FVM is by far the most popular.
