Hi,

I don't know if this is a simple/obvious question but it's well-known that tetraedral elements by themselves are not able to capture boundary layer features. In order to solve the boundary layer correctly, it is necessary to put prismatic layers, then you have a hybrid mesh. I would like to know if thinking works for hexaedral elements. Do they have the capabitity to capture these features or I need to put prismatic layers to capture the behavior on the boundary layer?

Thanks anyway.

Hexahedra should be very good for boundary layers. Tetrahedral grid generators have triangular prismatic cells since it is easier to combine them together.

So, it's not necessary to combine hexa with prism, but is it possible?
