Hi All,

I am working on a DG solver and am interested to visualize the higher order solution using open source tools. Currently, I use VTK based visualization tools such as "Visit" and "Paraview" for visualization purpose.

For visualization of higher order solutions, I subdivide the elements and write the refined mesh. However, this becomes complex, and consumes too much disk space in case of 3D meshes.

Is there any alternate way to visualize higher order solutions?

I dont know of any visualization tool than can directly take a DG representation. If you dont want to write out the solution on a finer mesh, then the only option would be to use some programmable tool and do the visualization yourself. VTK allows this and another option is opendx. If you find some solution to your problem, please write about it here.
