Default How to put turbulence intensity in CFD

I am trying to put iturbulence intensity in my simulation of RANS. Which way is better, to put unsteady velocity in inflow boudary condition or to change the turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation rate? Please explain in detail why and how to do. Thanks
