phase changing simulation

Hello All i am working for vapor condensing in a duct ,and i want to solve this problem using VOF method. But i don't know if VOF can be used to solve this promlem. i hope someboby can tell me some information about this, and give some advice. thanks a lot.

Re: phase changing simulation

VOF can be used. Condensation have to be described with an additional law at each volume. Take a look at the work of Prof. Philip Liu: http://www.cee.cornell.edu/faculty/i...bio&netid=pll3

Re: phase changing simulation

This should be quite easy - all you need are appropriate source/sink terms in the volume fraction equation. Be careful how you discretise the terms to avoid the volume fraction solution to go out of bounds (0 <= gamma <= 1).

Good luck,

Hrv

Hrvoje Jasak , thank your answer, can you tell how can i set the density and spectic heat capacity in NS equation and in the volume fraction equation. Can you give me some information in detail, thank you.
